Trump details goals for first 100 days in office

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump warned Wednesday that Hillary Clinton's "radical immigration platform" would hurt the same minority communities that she claims to be fighting for on the campaign trail, as the NY billionaire moved to turn the 2016 election into a referendum on the Democratic standard-bearer.

"A few days ago, he said, 'I'm going to do for the country what I did for my business, '" Clinton said during her speech in the crucial battleground state of Ohio.

The presumptive GOP nominee aimed to cast Clinton as a fundamentally corrupt figure who is more intent on catering to moneyed interests than defending the rights of American workers.

He made his arguments in a pointed yet measured tone, less loud and strident than has been typical in most previous campaign speeches.

The main theme of Trump's speech, originally scheduled for last week in New Hampshire but postponed due to the Orlando massacre, was that Clinton "is a world-class liar" and that the former secretary of state "lacks the temperament, the judgment and the competence to lead".

"Donald Trump's presidential campaign is melting down", Brock said.

In a speech held at a Trump hotel in Manhattan on Wednesday, the presumptive Republican nominee read his remarks deliberately off a teleprompter.

"We will never be able to fix a rigged system by counting on the same people who rigged it in the first place", Trump said, before appealing directly to Sanders supporters to "join our movement".

He also argued his trade and immigration policies would be more beneficial than Ms Clinton's for blacks and Hispanics, two groups that have overwhelmingly voted for Democrats in recent presidential elections.

But that wasn't the worst of it as the most ABSURD thing to come from the comic book villain's the businessman's speech was the announcement of a new website which will apparently "showcase some of Clinton's most disastrous lies to the American people".

"She ran the state department like her own personal hedge fund, doing favors for oppressive regimes and many others, and really, many, many others, in exchange for cash pure and simple, folks", Trump said.

The meeting comes as her likely Republican rival, Donald Trump, is set to deliver a speech attacking Clinton as a failed secretary state who is out of touch with Americans. "Hillary Clinton wants to bring in people who believe women should be enslaved and gays put to death". While Clinton has called for a pathway to citizenship for millions of people living in the US illegally, she has also called for focusing enforcement on "detaining and deporting those individuals who pose a violent threat to public safety". Instead, Trump focused on Clinton and accused her of trying to hide connections to these countries.

Trump also tried to turn Ms Clinton's strengths into negatives.

Trump is also slated to accuse the Clintons of engaging in "pay for play" schemes that saw donors to the Clinton namesake foundation allegedly receive favorable treatment from the State Department.

Clinton honed in on Trump's bankruptcy history in her remarks, citing reporting from CNN that no major US company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the last 30 years more than Trump's casino empire.

Tom Rath, a Republican convention delegate from New Hampshire who is pledged to former Trump opponent John Kasich, said Trump's campaign trouble is not just a "process story".

A new fundraising report released hours after Lewandowski's firing underscored how much ground Trump has to make up: he started June with just $US1.3 million in the bank.

Earlier this week, Trump abruptly fired his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, a move widely viewed as an acknowledgment of a need to recalibrate his organization.

The Trump campaign is hoping his speech will resonate with Republicans who may still be on the fence regarding Trump's White House run.
